Lucca Comics & Games 2025

Europe’s largest pop culture event, Lucca Comics & Games, returned in 2025, once again transforming the city of Lucca, Italy, into a vibrant stage for creativity. The international festival brings together creators and fans from around the world across comics, games, animation, art, and more.
This year, Keiichiro Toyama, CEO/Creator of Bokeh Game Studio, joined as a guest, connecting with European fans through talks, interviews, and signing sessions.
Talk 1: A Creator’s Journey

Toyama, together with Fabio Viola, looked back on his creative career—from his early experiences to the birth of Silent Hill, SIREN, and Gravity Rush, and his current work at Bokeh Game Studio. The session highlighted key moments that have shaped his approach to game development.
Talk 2: Anatomy of Fear — Building a Horror Video Game
Date: October 31
Time: 12:00–13:00
Venue: Si2 – San Francesco Auditorium
This session focused on how “fear” is crafted within horror games. Toyama shared the development process from initial inspiration to final production, explaining his unique approach to Japanese folklore, psychological horror, atmospherics, pacing, and worldbuilding.
